Senior Insight Consultant

research · Amsterdam · full-time

Are you a curious and strategically strong Insight Consultant with a passion for understanding consumer behavior? Someone who understands what goes on from the client’s perspective, but also has a feel for how the process works from a creative agency’s perspective? And someone who knows how to use new technology (such as AI) effectively to arrive at sharper insights faster? Then we’re looking for you.

At Validators, you’ll work on strategic brand and communication challenges for major brands. You’ll do this as part of a team that works every day for Dutch icons such as Albert Heijn, Schiphol, and Nederlandse Loterij. That means the research questions are big and high-profile: how do you ensure that communication really works, that brands remain top of mind, and that creative decisions are well-founded?

In doing so, you go beyond the client’s initial question and look for the underlying challenge: what decision actually needs to be made here? Based on that question, you help clients determine the direction of their brand and communication strategy.

Research and behavioral insights play an important role in this, but they are never an end in themselves. They help test assumptions, refine choices, and break through deadlocks in discussions. This way, you not only provide clients with new insights, but—more importantly—give them a solid foundation for making decisions. You understand how strong brands are built, how agencies come up with ideas, and what insights are needed to refine that process.

Your next step:

In this role, you’ll lead both projects and people. You’ll serve as a strong sounding board for clients and help them clarify complex decisions regarding branding and communication. Internally, you’ll mentor researchers in their professional development and, together, you’ll elevate the quality of our insights to the next level.

You oversee the entire process: from refining the strategic question to designing and guiding research and translating insights into clear recommendations. Thanks to your experience, you can seamlessly switch between strategy, content, and coaching. You’re curious about new ways of working and closely follow developments in data, technology, and AI—not because you have to, but because it offers opportunities to spot patterns faster and help clients make even better decisions.

What are your next steps:

You know how to build and strengthen close relationships with customers.

You translate complex issues into a smart and pragmatic research design.

Switching between different projects and tasks without losing track of the big picture.

You are ultimately responsible for reports and presentations that help clients make decisions.

You find it energizing to motivate and coach your junior and mid-level colleagues.

You identify opportunities with clients and turn them into new projects.

You take the initiative to achieve our business objectives.

Who are you?

You have at least five years of experience in a similar role—for example, at a research firm, a creative agency, or on the client side.

You are at the forefront of new analytical approaches and use AI and advanced tools to turn complex data into actionable insights for clients more quickly.

You are a reliable business partner and sounding board for clients.

You’re able to clearly distinguish between main and secondary issues and maintain a clear overview, even when there’s a lot going on at once.

You work in an innovative, pragmatic, and solution-oriented manner.

You're very familiar with the "gurus" of our field, such as Binet & Field, Byron Sharp, and Mark Ritson.

You have a college degree in Communication, Marketing, Psychology, or a related field.

You have a basic understanding of statistics and are analytical.

You have an excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
